Welcome Budding WCMS Scientists!

This website will help you find information you need to successfully complete a science fair project.  Please see the links below (or above) to find what you need!

TIMELINE – Your project begins in August and ends in November.  During this time, you will have various requirements and assignments due.  This timeline will help you know when things are due, and also provides links to information about each element of your project.

GETTING STARTED – Starting a project requires an understanding of rules, the scientific method, and variables.  You can find all this information under Getting Started.  There are also links to websites to help you find project ideas and science categories.  You can also find some great tips for creating a complete project.

REGISTER – In order for us to run the fair efficiently, each student must register their project through this website.  Information will be used to organize students into categories, assign judges, and to make sure students have proper documentation for their projects.  In addition, this information is needed for students who are invited to continue to the district and regional science fairs.

FORMS – Doing science projects can be dangerous.  In order to reduce student risk, every student will be required to fill out certain forms.  Most forms need parent signatures, and all forms will be reviewed by a committee to ensure students are aware of possible risks BEFORE they start their projects.  No student may start their project until forms have been submitted and approved.

SCIENCE FAIR LEVELS – The Walt Clark Science Fair is just the first of many possible science fairs in which you can participate!  Here you will find links to other fairs including the District, Regional, State, and International Science Fairs.

CONTACTS –  Here you will find e-mail addresses for the STEM Coordinator, your science teacher, and the website creator.
